UK regulator launches the Amazon, Google official test by false reviews
What is the news?
The UK competition authority launched formal research on Amazon and Google’s Alphabet on Friday about worries tech titans didn’t do enough to counteract false reviews. The move follows a CMA survey that started in May 2020 and evaluated numerous platforms’ internal mechanisms and procedures for identifying and managing fake reviews.

CMA has indicated that it will now collect more information to assess if the companies have breached consumer law by taking inadequate measures to safeguard customers from false reviews.
