How to remove your data from Google search

You can relax if you’re concerned that Google search results will include your name, phone number, address, and email. Google is making it simpler to delete this data. There hasn’t been much anyone could have done to fight the growing digital intrusion into private life. In fact, the majority of us have self-disclosed personal data to one or more websites. We have all contributed at the very least our name, phone number, address, and email to social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter as well as e-commerce websites like Amazon, Flipkart, and Myntra. However, these are significant websites with strict privacy policies. However, there are a tonne of obscure, unreliable websites that do not safeguard user information. Additionally, a lot of websites experience security flaws and data leaks, which frequently result in the exposure of our personal information, including bank account information. And when it appears in Google search results, the issue gets worse. However, Google is making it simpler to erase such information since it acknowledges the problem.

Google makes it simpler to remove private information from search results

According to a report by 9to5Google, users have started seeing the Google “Results about you” feature. The function is intended to make it easier to get rid of Google search results that have users’ personal information in them. Google made this feature announcement at its I/O event earlier this year and promised that the Google app would get it later on in the year.

Although it used to take more time and effort, users could previously remove their personal information. In the event that a user discovered their phone number, address, or even financial information floating around, they would need to visit a Google support page and submit a form referencing the URL they wished to have removed from the search result. It goes without saying that it would take a long time for Google to validate the form and take appropriate action.

The new “Results about you” function will allow users to request removal from the search results page. Users can easily access the “About this result” page by clicking the three dots next to the URL text. Simply selecting the “Remove result” option from there will start the page removal procedure.

Additionally, users can track their removal requests using the tool. Users can access the Google app, click on their profile photo, and then select “Results about you” to view a screen where they can directly track the progress of their requests. According to 9to5Google, users will be able to add fresh requests for the removal of search results on this screen as well.

Please be aware that this technique just deindexes the data displayed in Google search results. By entering the URL, users can still access the website and the content.
