The inventor of Gmail claims that Open AI’s ChatGPT can destroy Google in two years.

According to Gmail’s developer, Open AI’s ChatGPT may be accountable for Google’s demise. Is ChatGPT going to be the end of Google? Please make it clear in this article.

According to Gmail creator Paul Buccheit, ChatGPT has the capacity to demolish Google in a year or two at most. Buccheit believes that ChatGPT would kill Google’s most profitable product, called Search, and that even if Google catches up on artificial intelligence, it will be impossible to completely implement it without ruining the most valuable element of its business.

OpenAI’s Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer, or ChatGPT, has been the talk of the town since its debut in November 2022. It’s essentially a chatbot prototype that employs artificial intelligence to understand and respond to text. The real kicker is that it’s designed to communicate naturally – an area long regarded to be a Google specialty – and so far, the results have been fantastic, even surreal, resulting in a parabolic spike in usage globally while giving OpenAI the confidence to now—also—explore a commercial version.

Naturally, the chatbot’s success has raised concerns in Mountain View, with CEO Sundar Pichai apparently issuing “code red” and demanding Larry Page and Sergey Brin’s assistance in expediting Google’s AI projects. According to the New York Times, Google aims to “show a version of its search engine with chatbot features this year” and is developing more than 20 AI products to compete with ChatGPT. More details will be revealed during the future Google I/O 2023 developer conference.

In a year or two, Google might be entirely disrupted. “AI will kill the Search Engine Result Page, which is where they make the most of their money,” Buccheit wrote on Twitter, adding that “even if they catch up on AI, they can’t completely deploy it without eliminating the most lucrative part of their business!”

ChatGPT is based on GPT-3.5, a huge language model that uses deep learning techniques (both supervised and reinforced) to deliver extensive responses and eloquent responses to queries across different areas. ChatGPT is designed for human-like conversations/interactions at its core, but it is capable of much more, including creating and debugging sophisticated computer programmes and producing poetry. ChatGPT or GPT 3.5 is more engaging than its predecessor, which could just respond to text instructions and generate text.

It does, however, have constraints. OpenAI has officially admitted that ChatGPT can provide plausible-sounding but inaccurate or nonsensical responses on occasion. It appears to know nothing about events after 2021 and is susceptible to misinformation and biases.
